Hoge Fenton’s Fall Employment Law Seminar Series:

Is Your Company in Compliance with Current California Wage & Hour Laws?

Wage and hour mistakes are now more expensive than before.  The California Supreme Court’s recent ruling makes it easier for a large group of aggrieved employees to sue its employer and recover sizeable penalties.  The Court also enacted a stiffer penalty against the employer for knowingly using false timecards.

Most companies, regardless of size, misclassify their employees and/or make minor mistakes in paying its employees. These mistakes expose a business to significant financial risk in the form of back wage obligations, taxes, penalties, and interest.  And now a group of employees can easily bring these wage and hour lawsuits – without certifying a class.

Given this new legal climate, the Employment Law Group at Hoge Fenton is pleased to present its interactive wage and hour seminar with hypothetical exercises designed to help protect you and/or your business from making costly mistakes.  You will come away from the program with a better understanding of:

  • how to properly classify exempt vs. non-exempt employees
  • how to properly pay employees
  • how and when to make deductions from employee paychecks

All attendees will receive our Wage and Hour Manual which includes a step-by-step analysis on how to classify workers.

Who should attend?
Business owners and managers, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, attorneys, and human resource professionals.
