David J. Hofmann

Practice Overview

For over thirty years, David J. Hofmann has represented real estate brokers and agents in Santa Clara County . He advises his clients in all aspects of their business endeavors, including commercial and residential real estate transactions, business sales and acquisitions, contract drafting and review, and real estate lender and borrower representation.

Prior to joining Hoge Fenton, Mr. Hofmann was a partner in the San Jose law firm of Steinbock and Hofmann.

Articles and Teaching Engagements

Mr. Hofmann is a contributing author for Broker Agent Magazine, where he publishes articles addressing real estate issues. He is currently a Master
Instructor for the California Association of Realtors, and is an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University of Law in the area of real estate finance.  In addition,
Mr. Hofmann is an Instructor at the Professional Realtors Institute, where he teaches Agency, Ethics, Contracts, and Legal Issues in Residential Real
Estate Transactions.

Professional Activities

Consistently active in the legal and real estate communities, Mr. Hofmann is a member of the State Bar of California, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and the California Association of Realtors. He has served as Past President of the San Jose Real Estate Board Foundation, Chair for the Real Property Section of Santa Clara County Bar Association (1999, 2001), and Past Chair for the Education Committee of San Jose Real Estate Board. He has participated as a Member of the Forms Committee of California Association of Business Brokers, and the California Association of Realtors Form Subcommittee.
