Cyrstal N. Riggins

Practice Overview

Crystal Riggins is an associate in the firm’s San Jose office and is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. She focuses on all aspects of civil litigation, including case evaluation, pre-trial dispute resolution, discovery, trial, and post-trial matters. Clients appreciate Crystal’s and Hoge Fenton’s commitment to excellent client service.

Background

Crystal graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2009. While in law school she received two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Comparative Government Spending Policies and Family Wealth Management. She was the best oral advocate in Appellate Advocacy, and a competitor in the Galloway Moot Court Competition. In the Santa Clara Internal Moot Court Competition, Crystal was a finalist and a recipient of the Gerald Marer Oral Advocacy Award and the Harold R. McKinnion Prize for Best Brief. She was the research assistant for Professor Kandis Scott.

Prior to Crystal’s admission to the California Bar, she was a summer associate at Hoge Fenton Jones & Appel. She worked in several of the firm’s practice areas including litigation, business, real estate, and land use. She also summered at McNamara, Dodge, Ney, Beatty, Slattery, Pfalzer, Borges & Brothers LLP in Walnut Creek. There she worked with the litigation, construction, and medical malpractice groups and assisted with the drafting of a brief to the California, Third Appellate District Court of Appeal.

Crystal received her undergraduate degree in Political Science, cum laude, from St. Mary’s College of California in 2005. There she was the co-chair of the Programming Board and a research assistant at the Women’s Economic Agenda Project in Oakland, California.

Community Involvement

Crystal is a volunteer at Family Supportive Housing in San Jose. She also is an active member of the Ladies Guild at St. Christopher’s Church in San Jose.

Crystal is admitted to practice law in all California courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
