Main Bio

Practice Overview

Rob Keitamo is a member of Hoge Fenton’s Real Estate & Land Use practice group. With his significant legal knowledge and experience as a litigator, Rob offers clients comprehensive counsel in real estate matters including lease disputes and enforcement; lease drafting and negotiation; habitability claims; rent board petitions, arbitrations, and mediations; and tenancy buyouts.

Background

Prior to joining Hoge Fenton, Rob was an associate attorney at Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP. He counseled and represented property owners and large real estate investment trusts (REITS) in various landlord-tenant matters, including unlawful detainer mandatory settlement conferences and bench trials. Of note, Rob assisted clients through the complex local, state, and federal emergency restrictions in effect during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as local ordinances pertaining to the sunsetting of those restrictions. He developed litigation strategies to optimize results for clients while minimizing risk, and he effectively tailored these strategies in response to rapid legislative changes. Rob applied a collaborative and creative approach to structuring settlement agreements in high-risk contested matters.

Rob holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While in business school, he became a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, a distinction reserved for the top ten percent of his class. Rob received his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law where he was an Associate Editor and Technical Editor for the Santa Clara Journal of International Law. Rob served as a family law clerk at the firm Hoover Krepelka, LLP.
